About (work in progress ...)

AIS Insights is an initiative by the Association for Information Systems to project insights from academic research to practice. AIS Insights builds on academic research articles by applying AI to extract relevant information from these articles geared towards a practice audience.

We believe in the value of engagement between research and practice. Practice benefits from science in sharpening understanding and supporting better decision-making—especially as decisions become more complex in today’s fast-moving, digital world. Science, in turn, has both a responsibility and an opportunity to address real-world challenges, generating a wealth of insights that must be made more readily available for practical application and informed decision-making.

To this end, we bring rigorous scientific research to life as clear, accessible insights for audiences around the world. AIS Insights breaks down barriers between research and practice—and across languages and regions.

AIS Insights creates different types of outputs:

AIS Insights delivers insights in multiple languages. Current languages include Arabic, English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish.

Technology

AIS Insights uses resources provided by the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) at the University of Münster.

We utilize the University of Münster's on-premise private cloud and local high-performance computing cluster. In this environment, we use a software stack based on open-source large language and audio generation models.

The AI engine is developed by a team of researchers passionate about AI solutions for knowledge management, Living Knowledge.
